A high-impact shop-in-shop delivered for Stanley Black & Decker’s DEWALT brand, designed to maximise existing inventory while creating a flexible format that could be scaled for future stores.

The Challenge
DEWALT needed to make a strong impact within one of its customer’s flagship stores, with its main competitors positioned directly next door. The challenge was to make full use of a large 66m² space while making the most of existing inventory wherever possible. At the same time, the design needed to provide a flexible approach that could be adapted to future store footprints of different sizes.

Inside The Shop-In-Shop.
01
Design & Planning
The creative team developed the shop-in-shop using planograms and 3D renders during the sell-in phase. The 66m² space was divided into dedicated product zones, using the available floor area and multiple sides of the displays to give different tool categories a clear presence.
02
Existing Inventory First
Rather than producing everything from scratch, the design made use of the existing catalogue of modular permanent SKUs already established for Stanley Black & Decker. Standard units could therefore be sourced directly from existing SBD warehouse stock.
03
Customising The Space
Existing components were combined with new elements to give the space its own DEWALT identity. Flooring, tables, decals, screens and illuminated signage created a distinct environment while allowing the modular system to remain at the heart of the build.
04
Engineering & Delivery
We worked closely with the Stanley Black & Decker brand team from brief through to the final build. Each component was engineered to comply with health and safety requirements, weight limits and the customer’s store parameters.

Innovation isn't always new. Sometimes it's making what a brand already owns work harder.
